He was born on 14^th may, 1984 in White Plains, New York. His father’s name is Dr. Edward Zuckerberg who ran his dental clinic while his mother used to practice as a psychiatrist and her name is Karen Zuckerberg. Mark has other three siblings named Randi, Donna, Arielle.

Early Life     

Mark from his childhood was very much interested in technologies. He learnt some basics of programming from his dad ‘Edward‘. He developed his first messaging program named ‘Zucknet’ when he was just 12 years old. His father used to use that program in his clinic to communicate with his receptionist, so that whenever a new patient comes into the clinic, the receptionist used to use that program to contact Dr. Edward instead of shouting across the door.

Mark’s family also used to use that program to communicate in between different PC’s at their home. Later while teaching Programming to little Mark, Dr. Edward used to run out of answers and he wasn’t able to answer his questions at times, so Dr. Edward hired a professional named ‘David Newman’ as a tutor who used to teach programming to little Mark once a week. Mark also used to design/make games where his friends used to give him ideas just for fun.

Education

Mark has also excelled in Literature and he has a diploma in classics, but due to his growing interest in computers, he kept on developing programs.

In 2002, Mark took admission in Harvard University, during his college years, he developed many of the programs like, Facemash, Course Match while he also had developed a music program which used to decide the next song to be played, based on the person’s interest. And he named that program as ‘Synapse’, he also had got offers from AOL, and Microsoft for that program but instead of selling that to them, he uploaded the program on internet for free.

College Life

The program ‘Facemash’ was developed by Mark. On which people or users can vote in between two pictures of the college female students, which was later shutdown by Harvard, because it was Self demeaning for some people and he also had hacked Harvard’s website for student’s database for Facemash.

The software ‘Coursematch’ helped students to choose their class based on their course selection.

Based on the facts, Mark had also agreed to work on a Dating site for Harvard students named ‘Harvard Connection’ with his fellow batchmates Divya Narendra, Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss, but later Mark dropped that idea and started working on ‘The Facebook’ with his friends.

Mark Zuckerberg and his friends Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin and Chris Hughes founded and ran ‘The Facebook’ from their dorm till 2004, but later Mark dropped out of school and moved to Palo Alto, California, and by that time ‘The Facebook’ had total of 1 Million members, later Mark dropped the ‘The’ from the name and renamed the domain as ‘Facebook’. Meanwhile, mark and his friends expanded Facebook updating many of the features for the users, like updating relationship status, uploading pictures and videos, etc.

In 2005, Facebook hit 5.5 million users, after this a lot of companies like Yahoo!, MTV Networks approached the founders to buy the platform, but they (Mark and other co-founders) didn’t sell the platform, instead they expanded the platform. Later 2006, the founders of ‘Harvard Connection’ claimed that Zuckerberg stole their idea and made Facebook. After when lawyers searched Zuckerberg’s instant messages revealed that Mark may have intentionally stolen their idea. Later in 2011, initial settlement of near about 65 million dollars reached between two parties.

In 2012, Mark married Priscilla Chan, and they had first met in the bathroom line of a frat party from the college.
